Scout Surge Patriots Day
Scout Surge 9/11

Through Scout Surge on September 11, 2010(Patriot’s Day)
members of The Burlington County Council can
continue our tradition of saluting local heroes
and honor the memory of the victims of 9/11/01 and all
who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation as well as the BRAVE men
and women of the Law Enforcement and Fire and Rescue community.
Districts, Troops, Packs, Posts, and Crews can participate in the event by bringing Scouts and non-Scouts together at 8:46am on 9/11 to show respect for those who died on September 11, 2001. Units may still choose to participate in our effort to say thank you to ALL Law Enforcement and Fire Departments in Burlington County. Units may visit and present them with homemade cards, gifts, baked goods, and tokens of Scouting’s and the community’s appreciation for their unselfish service to our families.

A Message from the Director of Voices of September 11th...
On September 11, 2001 nearly 3,000 innocent people died in the most devastating terrorist attack upon our country. For the families and friends of those lost on 9/11, commemorating their lives in a meaningful way ensures that their memory will live on for future generations.
Scout Surge is a wonderful way to teach the nation's youth about our loved ones and the events of 9/11, so that future generations will "Always Remember.
I hope you will visit the
9/11 Living Memorial Project to learn about the lives of these amazing people and the wonderful foundations and memorials that were created in their memory. Take a moment to write a remembrance in their personal guestbook.
Today, with the use of Facebook and Youtube, you have an opportunity to join your friends at September 11th commemorative events around the country - visit our interactive map to find a 9/11 Memorial in your community.
In the days following 9/11, people of all ages came together as one in communities around our country. Join the Surge and show your patriotism by participating in a Day of Remembrance in your community. With your help we will Always Remember!
