Crossover Ceremonies
Dear Cubmaster,
The Burlington County Council’s Order of the Arrow Lodge, Hunnikick 76, has a special Cubreach Committee. This committee exists solely for the benefit of our local packs. Our job is to perform any ceremony for your pack, but we specialize in Arrow of Light and Crossover Ceremonies. We can perform normally or, upon request, dressed in full Native American Regalia. If you would like us to perform any ceremony for your Pack please e-mail Ross Clouser at: cubreach@hunnikick76.org. Once we approve the date requested, please fill out the official sign-up form.
The benefits of having the Cubreach team perform ceremonies are that your Cubs will always remember that “Indians” were there and they performed their crossover ceremony into Boy Scouts. It is much more interesting for us to be performing than for someone else to just be giving them their various awards. The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society, and when the Cubs see us on stage performing, they’ll hardly be able to wait until they can join Boy Scouts. It will be an incentive for them to get more involved in scouting and become part of the Order of the Arrow.
While our ceremonies are by no means necessary, they can make the experience that much more special for the Cubs. It’s not every day they get to be addressed by an Indian chief, so why not let them have the opportunity?
Yours in Scouting,
Ross Clouser
