2005 marks the 95th anniversary of Scouting in the United States. The Burlington County Council was chartered in 1925, just a short time later. Since then, the Scouting program has provided life changing experiences to hundreds of thousands of young men and women from Burlington City to Marlton and everywhere in-between. Our mission is simple - to influence the positive development of a young person’s character, citizenship, and self. We train the leaders of tomorrow and teach them skills that could one day save their life or the life of another. Our tools are straight forward - the Scout Oath & Law. The Scouting movement provides an outstanding program for young people during their developmental years. Our Cub Scout program reaches boys from first grade to the age of 10 - and they don’t have to constantly compete and excel at a sport to be accepted and included. The traditional Boy Scout program, for young men ages 11 to 18, is unparalleled in the results it achieves for them as they meet challenges of advancement, skill development, and leadership training. Many go on to excel academically, artistically, or athletically in high school and college, many becoming student government leaders. Those very same skills help them to succeed in the game of life! Our co-ed Venturing program provides high adventure opportunities, in a club format, for young men and women ages 14 to 21 while teaching them leadership and other skills that will help them to be successful throughout their lifetimes. We’re proud to be recognized as The Premier Provider of youth services in Burlington County, reaching over 10,000 Scouts with the help of over 2,000 volunteer adults.
